Plans for 2024?

How many New Year’s resolutions have you made at the beginning of a new year only to break it within the first month of that year?  If you have, don’t be too discouraged; most people do this.  However, if you would like to have a much better year than last year, I would like to suggest a new idea, one that would prove to be very profitable for you.  Begin 2024 with a resolution to know Christ if you haven’t decided to accept Him as your Savior yet, and if you have, then to know Christ more intimately.  I am suggesting this because I know without a doubt, He is the answer to all of the other areas of your life.  He alone gives you purpose and meaning because this is why you were born.

So many people cannot identify the purpose or meaning of their life.  I know, we are all familiar with those who appear to have their lives together, those who have fantastic jobs, lots of money, a home and everything material things people chase after in our society.  And then, we see others who appear to be destitute, struggling through life.  Our world is full of all kinds of people experiencing all kinds of situations.  But here’s the truth about all; God is Creator of all, and He is in control.  People either belong to Him or they are against Him.  Whatever the state of any person, God still loves the World and He sent His one and only Son, Jesus, thousands of years ago to die on a cross, take the sins of the world away, rise again so that anyone can choose to accept Him as their Lord and Savior anytime, and not only receive eternal life with Him, but to also have The King of the World as their own advocate in this life! What an amazing truth this is.

When you become a follower of Jesus, you have access to His throne any time you need His help; He is always available.  There is nothing you cannot take before His throne that He doesn’t already know about and is willing to help you through.  We cannot escape God physically, mentally, or spiritually.  He knows you from your beginning to your end when you draw your last breath.  That is a marvelous, glorious truth.  What better way to begin a new year by asking the Lord to forgive you for your sins, to come into your life as Lord and Savior and begin your new journey of life!

The Bible makes it very clear that Christ will never fail you.  In Psalm 145: 18, it states, “The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth.” (NIV version).  It also states, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you,” (Hebrews 13:5 NIV Version). And, in Ephesians 2: 18, 3: 11-12, scripture states, “For through Him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father . . . This was according to the eternal purpose that He has realized in Christ Jesus or Lord, in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through our faith in Him.” (NIV version).  These are just a few of the promises that are yours when you belong to Him.  There is nothing you have done that is so bad or horrible that would keep Him from loving and accepting you right where you are.  He is always waiting for you to take the first step.  So if you haven’t taken that step, all you need to do is say this prayer: Heavenly Father, I believe Jesus is your one and only Son, sent to the earth, to die on a cross to pay for my sins, go to a grave and rise again to Life.  So Jesus, come into my life, forgive me of my sins, become my Lord and Savior from this moment all. Thank you for dying for me.  Thank you for saving me.  I ask all of these things in your most Holy name. Amen.”

If you have said this prayer, praise God! I know that you will never regret it, that your life will begin to take on a new meaning and He will guide you into your purpose, what He created you for.  If you are a Christian who has strayed away from your belief, you can also start a new beginning today.  He is waiting for you to come home, and I encourage you to take the step to re-dedicate your life to Him.

Happy New Year!
